Giada Pezzaioli was chosen this past week to represent Italy at the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world-- Miss Universe. She is twenty-two years old and born in Montichiari. She is a model who is also majoring in foreign language and literature. Giada also participated in Miss World 2010 where she represented Italy and placed in the top 7. Italy has never won Miss Universe, but they have had several semi-finalists, including a top 15 placement at last year's MU pageant. Thoughts?

It's so close, I can taste it. Miss Universe 2015 will be here in less than a month, December 20th, 2015 aired live on Fox from Las Vegas. I have to say, I was worried for a little while when the Trump scandal was going on. I wasn't sure that MU would have a home, but alas they came through. So, here are my official predictions for Miss Universe 2015, down to the order of places. Unfortunately, Ireland and Italy have yet to crown their contestants for this year so I won't be including them in this. Also, some countries withdrew this year such as T&T, Ethiopia, Egypt, Switzerland, and few more. Top Row (L-R): Colombia, Philippines, Mexico, Venezuela, USA Second Row (L-R): Great Britain, Spain, Dominican Republic, France, Australia Bottom Row (L-R): Finland, Ecuador, Japan, Paraguay, Sweden AnalysisSo why did I pick who I picked? Well, first off I think that any of these girls would make a wonderful Miss Universe, but based off of their biographies, head-shots, and their overall presence as titleholders of their countries, I picked down to the very winner.
Mexico: Wendolly Wendy Esparza is a total knockout. She looks so high fashion, and when I think "Miss Universe", I think Wendy Esparza. Plus, Latin American countries have accounted for 22 Miss Universe winners -- not a shy number, and Mexico has had a total of 2. Nonetheless, it would ironic if she won, since Mexico had initially pulled out of this year's competition due to Donald Trump, but re-entered once he sold MUO to WME/IMG. Japan: I have her in the top 15. Her unique look is going to make her stand out, it's not often that you see a biracial competitor from an Asian country. Plus, she has faced much criticism from the media and has a great story to share. Dominican Republic: I picked her to make the top 10 for two reasons. One, because I am a little biased, the DR is my family's home country. But two, Clarissa. I think Clarissa is so beautiful and one of the best representatives the Dominican Republic has seen. Venezuela: Venezuela is one of those countries who is always top of the top. They must put something in their water. from 1983-2003 Venezuela had a streak and placed as semi-finalists or higher. Overall, Venezuela has had 7 Miss Universe winners. I wouldn't be surprised if Mariana Jimenez took it all the way and won, I think at a minimum she will be top 5. In the class of 2016, Miss USA has crowned 34 out of the 50 states & Washington D.C. Out of the 34 misses who have been crowned 11 were Teen USA state titleholders, 2 were Miss America titleholders, and one National Sweetheart.
