Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2014, Kimberly Castillo, has a month left to call herself that before she crowns her successor. At Miss Universe, Kimberly was one of my favorites, but the DR is almost always in my Top 15 out of pure bias (I am part Dominican). First, let's start with where it all began. The crowning. Kimberly Castillo was crowned on August 17, 2014 in Santo Domingo. "No existen palabras para agradecerte tu tiempo, apoyo y sobre todo amistad, te hable de este sueño desde el día 1, y sin dudar lo hiciste tuyo, tu disposición y entrega sirvieron de motivacion en este trayecto, me hiciste brillar en cada presentacion porque a parte del talento que sobra en ti, hay algo mas y es que lo haces con amor, gracias mil gracias! Esta corona tambien es tuya!" -Kimberly Castillo via Instagram Then, Kimberly did one of her first interviews as Miss DR on Sigue La Noche.
Kimberly had one of the best swimsuit bodies, in my opinion. It was long and lean like a super model. Very similar to Gabriela Isler's. So, in conclusion, I think it's been a pretty kick-ass year for Kimberly Castillo. I will be sad to see her give up the crown on August 23, but also excited to see what's next for her after Miss Dominican Republic. If you would like to follow her on instagram (@kimberlycastillom) or check out her contestant profile from Miss Universe here. Let's take a look back at last night's Miss USA competition. There was swimsuit, evening gown, and onstage question. We can see who did things wrong.. and who did them right. And finally, the crowning of our new queen. All with the help of our lovely Colombian friend Sofia Vergara.
First the girls walk on stage in their red, white, and blue opening number dresses looking gorgeous and I'm all...Then they started announcing the top 20...
But not California or North CarolinaThen the swimsuit competition starts and you narrow your top picks down even more but its so hardNow its time to hear the top 10. And most of your favorites make it, but to the ones that don't...But then the public saves Kentucky instead of Arizona or New York and your like...So, after evening gown you hear the top 5. And at this point any of them are good enough to win.And then the top 5 girls are answering their onstage questions and you are nervous for themAnd when Nevada and Rhode Island mess up their first onstage questions you know its overBut then Oklahoma completely rocks both of her answersNow it's time for placements to be called out and you can look at Rhode Island's face and tell she's thinking...And then Maryland is 4th runner up when you thought she'd be in the top 2Now it's down to Oklahoma and Texas and your mind is spinning like crazyAnd the call out "OKLAHOMA!!!" and you're all...And that's a recap of Miss USA 2015 as told by Sofia Vergara. Thanks for reading!Olivia Jordan, Miss Oklahoma USA 2015, took home the crown tonight as Miss USA!
